GW10: 5-A-Side ft. FFScout_Az

So here we are, the 10th gameweek of the season, and to celebrate that milestone, I’ve invited one of the biggest names in the FPL Commnunity, Az, to take on the 5-a-side challenge.

I’m sure he needs no introduction, let’s face it, if you’re reading this, and don’t know who Az is, then you’re doing FPL all wrong, but you can see Az as a pundit on the Official FPL show, and as a co-host on the award winning Blackbox. Despite my best efforts, I still can’t convince the wife to sit down and enjoy with me.

As is also the Membership Strategy Manager for Fantasy Football Scout and is possibly the only man in the FPL community that has a comparable love of James Maddison to myself.

Below, Az makes his selections, and gives his reasoning for his picks as he looks to overhaul FPL Poet at the top of the standings.

GK Ilan Meslier (vs. Norwich)

DEF Reece James (vs. Newcastle)

MID Phil Foden (vs. Palace)

MID Mo Salah (vs. Brighton)

FWD Michail Antonio (vs. Villa)

”Nothing too fancy with my picks, my outfield selections all have the form and the fixtures for me to feel comfortable that they will deliver points this week.
My one "risky" pick is Illan Meslier - while Leeds are struggling at the moment, Norwich have only scored two goals all season.
Elsewhere, Reece James had a superb game against Norwich, and I expect him to keep his place, with his marauding runs likely to cause Matt Ritchie all kinds of problems.
Foden perhaps got a bit jammy with his goals against Brighton, but still put in a superb performance and while Palace are looking a good side this season, they should be no match for the power of Man City.
Antonio plays against a Villa team who are in dire straits defensively and are extremely susceptible to set pieces - an area West Ham with Creswell and Antonio will surely look to exploit.
Salah is in simply because he's the best player in the world at the moment, leagues ahead of any other player in the league both statistics and performance wise”

Az’s picks look to have sound reasoning, but there is a spin on the Pep roulette as Phil Foden gets his first 5-a-side selection.

Last week saw Sam from FPL family slot into 5th place in the standings. Despite a heroic effort from Mo Salah, her spurs boys blanked, and Cesar Azpilicueta was a no show, meaning she ended on 31 points.
