Gameweek 14 started off well for @FPLInzaghi with Callum Wilson’s penalty, but from the moment that Christian Benteke missed a header from3 yards, causing Wilf Zaha to miss out on an assist, things snowballed out of control.
In injury time in that same game, Marc Guehi’s handball gave Leeds a penalty, which Raphinha converted meaning that Vicente Guaita was seconds away from claiming a valuable clean sheet.
Wednesdays fixtures compounded this, with Marcos Alonso picking up a solitary point, and whilst Diogo Jota scored for Liverpool it was too little too late.
All of this meant that @FPLInzaghi could only enter the standings in 13th place.
And so on to Gameweek 15. And following on from the relative success my family have had in the competition ( Dad joint top, me 4th) it’s time for my big brother to step up to the plate.
@Oodard is a self-declared tactical pioneer, as an exponent of a Back 3 with very high attacking wingbacks whilst managing his sons junior football team to league glory. A relative newcomer to FPL, he’s happy to be matching/beating some of the more experience players in the family.
Scotts picks are as follows:
GK - Edouard Mendy
With 7 clean sheets already, Mendy will Be looking to improve that record even further in Saturdays early kick off. He showed decent form in midweek with 6 saves ba Watford despite conceding.
DEF - Trent Alexander-Arnold
A disappointing 2 points on Wednesday in the Merseyside Derby isn’t enough to put me off TAA. With 5 double digit hauls already this season, he’s arguably the best asset in the game.
MID - Mo Salah
If Trent isn’t the best asset this season, it’s only because of this man. 13 goals and 9 assists already this season. You’d be silly not to pick him
MID - Diogo Jota
There‘s a lot to like about Jota this week. He’s classed as a midfielder, playing up front for one of the best attacking teams in the league. He travels to his old stomping ground, and it’s his birthday.
FWD - Harry Kane
Whilst lots of managers are losing patience with Kane, there has definitely been an upturn in performances in recent weeks. It can only be a matter of time before he hauls, and what better fixture can you ask for than Norwich at home?
