GW17. A move t9o sensible not to make?

This move has been one I’ve wanted to do for a few weeks, but injuries, and a need for Bruno have taken priority, however ahead of GW18 and the double gameweek, I’ve wanted to get Bamford in for DCL and now seems the right time.

Since Bamford replaced Klich on penalties (ironically, the week I brought Klich into my team), he’s been a no braiher, even for those of us who didn’t consider him that beforehand. I’ve been really impressed with how he’s stepped up to the Premier League, and he has a real chance of scoring more goals, in less appearances, and in a higher division than he did last season, which is an incredible achievement in itself.

I’ve also been impressed with the way he talks about himself and his performances in interview, he seems like a student of the game and continues to want to improve.

Calvert-Lewin has done wonderfully for me throughout the first half of the season, but has gone 4 games without a goal, and doesn’t have a double gameweek for me, and the transfer has allowed me an extra £1.1m in the bank. If I’m being honest I should’ve done this last gameweek rather than bringing in Ben Johnson for Lamptey, in order to raise the cash for Bruno (especially as Leeds played West Brom). I’m not sure why I didn’t, I’ll blame xmas festivities taking precedent.

Looking at the comparison tool in the Fantasy Football Scout Members area, and the transfer just seems to be too logical to have not done.

Not only is Bamford scoring more goals than Calvert-Lewis Lately, but he’s having more shots per game, more touches in the box and is proving to be a more creative threat, creating more chances per game than the Everton front man.

Add in the fact that Leeds have an upcoming double gameweek and hopefully it’s a transfer which will pay dividends.

in terms of the double game week, in gw19, my plan is still to free hit next week, in order to get a full squad out, but I’m not sure abou if I’ll play my triple captain or not due to the current Covid-18 situation.

After this gameweek ends on Monday we get a full week until the next deadline, with FA cup games, the transfer window being open all further options to consider.
