GW2: The Watchlist

With Gameweek one consigned to the history books, it's time to review the gameweek and begin planning for next weekend, and beyond.

Coming into the season, my strategy was to roll my transfer this week, and hopefully only need to use one next week, allowing me to keep a spare transfer each week, and reduce the propect of needing to take any hits.

Despite 5 of my team blanking, I saw enough in most of them to continue with this plan, barring any injuries ahead of Saturdays deadline.

However there were a few players that caught my eye this weekend, and have found themselves added to my watchlist, for varying reasons.

Matt Ritchie - 12 crosses in Newcastles defeat to West Ham was matched only by Kostas Tsimikas all weekend for a defender. 4 Chances created throughout the game suggests a potential for assists

Kieren Tierney - A lot has been said about Arsenals defeat to Brentford, but a shining light was Tierneys performance at Left Back, where he created 6 chances, more than any other player this gameweek.

Shane Duffy - another £4.0m option who played 90 mins this weekend, and had 4 attempts at goal, showing a decent set-piece threat for the Seagulls.

Dele Alli - Dele was a player in a few of my drafts pre-season, but despite an impressive display against Man City, I was concerned about his seemingly deeper role than I expected him to play. One to keep an eye on

Paul Pogba - 4 assists, and ran the game against Leeds. On this form, he is a joy to watch.

Pablo Fornals - Whilst teammate Said Benrahma took the plaudits on FPL Twitter, Fornals created 4 chances against Newcastle on Sunday

Declan Rice - A BPS Baseline of 22 was only beaten by Youri Tielemans, out of all midfielders this weekend. Add in the potential of becoming West Hams penalty taker after Michail Antonio's miss, and he could beomce a bonus point magnet.

Adam Armstrong - This is a bit of a cheat as I was always interested in him, and have been a fan since he came on loan to Coventry at just 19. Armstrong showed what a clinical finisher he is with a well taken goal on Debut.

Jamie Vardy - After disappointing me when I brought him in ahead of Iheanacho last season, Vardy seemed rejuvenated by having fans back in the stadium. 6 goal attempts the gameweek showed his goal-threat being back to the levels we know.
