Introducing… Shake n Bake 5-a-side

A new feature this year, which will see members of the Fantasy football community pick their best five picks of each Gameweek, with the aim

of securing a place in the Shake n Bake hall of fame.

The rules are simple… pick 5 players (1GK, 1 DEF, 2 MID, 1 FWD), no price limit. For double gameweeks, scores will be halved, if there’s a triple gameweek again this year then scores will be divided by three.

The aim of this is to give an insight into what could be good 1 week punts, if you’re looking to climb your mini leagues then seeing some suggestions from some of the finest FPL brains may just spark an idea, or solidify something you were already thinking of.

Firsty up this week is @fplinthedugout. David has been playing FPL for 4 years, and has finished inside the top 1% each year, finishing in the top 20k in 19/20. See David’s picks and his thoughts on each player below.

GK - Emi Martinez - lasts season's highest FPL points scoring GK recorded 15 clean sheets. Villa travel to Watford who scored the fewest out of the newly promoted team in The Championship last season.

DEF - Lucas Digne - Rafa is a defensively appreciative coach and Everton start their season welcoming Southampton to Goodison Park. Digne also has a goal threat going forward so partnering that with Saints selling their their top goalscorer from last season, Danny Ings, Everton will see this as an opportunity to start strong.

MID - Mo Salah - the formidable Salah welcomes newly promoted Norwich in GW1. Salah got himself a goal and an assist in this fixture 2 seasons ago and after a summer of rest, we could see Salah fly out of the blocks.

MID - Kai Havertz - Champions League winners Chelsea welcome a depleted Crystal Palace squad to Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend. With an impressive Euros campaign under his belt, we could see Havertz step it up a notch this year especially as Tuchel likes to play him further forward too. It's a riskier pick than going for Bruno for example, but iTD always looks for a differential. Be bold, be brave!

FWD - Michail Antonio - the West Ham striker when fit is a constant thorn in the side of any opposition. His strength and pace could cause Newcastle some real problems with Benrahma, Bowen and Fornals all providing assists in an impressive preseason. That creativity may well end with the ball at Antonio's feet infront of goal.
