Tripp Switch

First of all, it's been a while.

World cup, Shoulder Surgery, Xmas, New Year, attempting to study for my apprenticeship and work have all taken up a lot of time. Add in a constantly teething, non-sleeping baby and the last few months have been a bit of a slog personally (and any brief time spent working on here has been on a post which I never hope I have to use).

But that's over now, and I've got a bit of spare time, so it's time to look forward to GW21.

Having made an early transfer this week, bringing in Kaoru Mitoma for Andreas Pereira (in order to avoid being priced out after Mitoma's price rise on Monday evening), and not wanting to take any hits, my focus for the majrity of the week has been on who to hand the captaincy armband to.

There's the usual big hitters, Erling Haaland takes on a wolves team that have only kept one clean sheet away from home all season. Kevin De Bruyne will surely feature in that fixture after a rest against Spurs last night and scored 4 against Wolves in one fixture last season. Then there's Harry Kane, ever-reliable and facing Fulham this week.

But for me, there's another option. A man so consistent, that he has only not been in my top 4 scoring players in just 4 of the 20 gameweeks so far this season (and even one of those weeks, he still returned. A man who is averaging over 7 points per Game. Ahe man that @YelenaFPL compared to Henry Hoover for the way he hoovers up bonus points (18 bonus points alone in his last 7 games). Kieran Trippier.

Trippier leads the whole league in Bonus points this season, with 28. Bonus points are often a overlooked source of points, but Trippiers game suits the underlying BPS system so well that he even managed to claim all three bonus points vs Fulham last week despite giving a penalty away, and without an attacking return. Obviously he was helped by the disallowed penalty from Mitrovic, but it's an impressive feat none the less.

There is the potential that I bottle this move and play it safe in terms of EO before the deadline passes, but for now, my captaincy is firmly placed on the Newcastle man.
